Josh Thomas is a Massage Therapist and Yoga Educator living in Raleigh, NC. The search for relief from chronic stress and general anxiety lead him to breathing and movement practices designed to eliminate and manage both. Once he recognized the power of simple practices, the flood gates were opened. Josh became a voracious reader and consumer of anything related to yoga, breath work, eastern philosophy, and meditation. He spent a great majority of his time learning. Formally trained, he has been teaching yoga since 2012.
Later, while further exploring his own stress relief through massage and bodywork, he discovered techniques that had the power to help alleviate muscle and soft tissue pain. He decided to leave his career in sales and pursue professional training in massage therapy. Now a licensed massage and bodywork therapist, Josh helps people to reduce stress, tension, and chronic pain.
Much of Josh’s free time is spent living life with his wife and their two dogs.
When he’s not leisurely reading medical text and bodywork books, Josh spends a lot of his free time in marathon training mode. Endurance running is a grueling sport that will test your resolve, and challenge you mentally, emotionally, and physically. But the rewards are vast and nearly impossible to explain until you’ve experienced it yourself. Currently on the books, he will be running the Big Sur Marathon in April 2019 (among others). His training consists of a moderate amount of running, a little bit of weight training, a ton of stretching and rest, and regular twice monthly bodywork sessions (sometimes more frequently).
